Denny's For Lunch

The past few weeks, I've been totally enamored with the awesome food being put out by Denny's these days.  Yesterday at lunch is a perfect example.  Chicken Fried Steak dinner, with a stack of blueberry pancakes.  Check out that wild rice!  Yes the CFS and corn are almost certainly made from frozen, but they're both well presented and full of flavor.

 Denny's is now actively pushing pancakes as a desert option, and at $1.99 for a stack (plus $.99 for mix-ins like the blueberry's here) it's a pretty persuasive concept!

 And look how thick these things are!

Even the garlic toast is surprisingly good (looks like they triangle cut half a ciabatta bun.)

I made this, it was pretty darn good.  I was worried because of the reviews on the Betty Crocker website, but I think those people might not be good at reading.

Pulled Pork with Four Cheese Mashed Potatoes

So, this afternoon, while hunting for something to eat, I discovered I had a packet of four cheese instant mashed potatoes that expired last week.  I needed to get them gone before they went to waste, so I made some pulled pork, and put it on top.

The mashed potatoes weren't that great (Market Pantry brand seems to suck at these.)  But the BBQ sauce made them passable.

Hooray for not wasting food!

Hard Eight BBQ

You can hardly look around any town in Texas without finding at least okay BBQ.  In Coppell, you are truly lucky.  Surrounded by a bunch of large warehouses, is Hard Eight BBQ.

Today, I had a stuffed baked potato (stuffed with ham).  I was too hungry to wait for the photo, so sorry guys, but you'll just have to check this one out for yourself!

Cheeseburger Pasta Skillet Dinner

Tonight was a night for a special favorite of mine.  The box doesn't look like much.

And the results don't look like much, but if you want to share a cheeseburger among multiple people, this is one of my favorite ways to do it.

Dinner of the Gods!

Tonight, I had a dinner I haven't had in a month or so.  I don't get to do it very often anymore, because of time, money, convenience, etc.  Double Down, with fried cheese curds, and a few chocolate chip cookies.

This is the kind of awesome that can happen at a KFC/A&W combo store.  It is also one of the few places one can approximate poutine in the southern US.

Spaghetti with Ham Sauce

So, I had this leftover ham from the other night, that nobody was particularly interested in eating standalone again.  I also had just procured 3lbs of spaghetti and 4 jars of sauce.  The result is above.  Spaghetti with ham sauce (traditional sauce with ham chopped up and mixed in, via slow cooker.)
